My husband and I went for a late lunch. The service was so great, but the food was amazing! Absolutely delicious. Best fried mushrooms we have ever had! We will definitely be back!

This was my second time eating at Cowboy Restaurant in Elkin. I first visited last summer, and it was fantastic — the food was absolutely delicious! My brother-in-law is obsessed with this place. He talks about it so much you’d think he owns it (he doesn’t, but the way he hypes it up, you’d never know). This time, I ordered the filet, medium rare, with hush puppies, a baked potato, and a side salad. Everything was great, though they did bring the steak out medium well instead of medium rare. That was the only small miss, but honestly, it was still really good. The service here is fantastic — the staff is friendly, quick, and they really make you feel welcome. On top of that, the restaurant has a very cool country vibe. I love the laid-back atmosphere, and the rocking chairs outside are a perfect touch. It’s the kind of place where you can just sit, relax, and enjoy yourself. I can definitely see why my brother-in-law can’t get enough of it!

Stopped in for lunch on a Friday @ 1 p.m. It was seat yourself. Servers were quick and friendly often checking up. I liked seeing that the two servers were covering tables for each other. Food was good. Menu seemed to be a lot of deep fried items except for steak. We had the flounder sandwiches. The flounder itself was great. However the "sandwich" was a bun with tartar sauce and the flounder. We just at the flounder w/o the bun. It was a good size piece of flounder and we both took pieces home.
